Who can legally buy weed in new mexico?
Cannabis is legal for both adult-use and medical consumers in New Mexico.
Adults 21 and older can legally purchase cannabis with a valid government-issued photo ID — no medical card required.
Medical patients (18+ or minors with caregivers) must have a valid New Mexico Medical Cannabis Program (MCP) card to qualify for tax exemptions and higher purchase limits.
Both groups are welcome at Black Market and our staff is trained to assist with any questions about ID, access, or qualifying conditions.
Where is your Dispensary Located?
You can find us at 5231 San Mateo Blvd NE, Suite A, Albuquerque, NM 87109 — just north of Montgomery Blvd. We’re minutes from I-25, with plenty of free parking right out front. A perfect stop off on your way home or to your ABQ destination.
How much cannabis can you legally buy in New Mexico?
Adult-Use (Recreational):
Up to 2 ounces of cannabis flower
Up to 16 grams of concentrate
Up to 800 mg of THC in edibles
These limits apply per transaction, and there are currently no daily or monthly caps for adult-use purchases. There is no monthly or weekly limit. There is no possession limit for cannabis kept at home, as long as it’s stored securely and out of public view.
Medical Cannabis Patients:
May purchase up to 425 units (approx. 15 ounces) of cannabis over a rolling 90-day period
Purchases are tax-free
Once a patient reaches their 90-day limit, they may continue to purchase cannabis as a recreational consumer (with taxes)
